Welcome to the

Blacksmith Shop

Blacksmith Classes

The Freetown Historical Society offers Blacksmithing classes that provide hands-on learning in this time-honored trade, held in our replica blacksmith shop.

Classes are offered seasonally starting in the spring.
These classes make a great night out or date night.
Participants are encouraged to wear boots and cotton clothing. All other items are provided.

Classes are non-refundable, we will work with you regarding any scheduling accommodations so please reach out to freetownmuseum@gmail.com prior to purchasing tickets.

One Day

This class gets your feet wet.

Learn some basic blacksmith skills in a fun 3 hour class. Perfect for a new experience.

$80 includes membership

Four Day

This class is a complete beginner blacksmith introduction. Basics such as draw, twist, upset, bend, and punch will be covered.

$300 includes membership.
